Stamping

Home Up Pre-Mastering Mastering Stamping One-Off's Silk Screening Thermal Printing

A stamper is inserted into one side of the cavity of an injection molder. In a high speed process, heated polycarbonate is injected into the other side. The two sides are then pressed together and instantly cooled, hardening the polycarbonate. The stamper is a mirror image of the final product. The injection molding process reverses the pit pattern in the transfer, thereby achieving the desired effect. In the final stages, the center hole is punched out, and the CD is metalized and laquered.

The functional CD is now ready for the application of a label either by Silk Screening or Thermal Printing.
